BUFFALO, NY (Oct. 10) – The Buffalo Professional Firefighters Association Local 282 announced its endorsement of Chris Jacobs for State Senator of the New York State’s 60th Senate District.
“The Buffalo Professional Firefighters Association is dedicated to securing the best working conditions and environment for the men and women who protect our homes and families every day,” said Association President Thomas P. Barrett. “On behalf of our members, we are proud to endorse Chris Jacobs, who has served the residents of Erie County well in the Clerk’s office, and who we believe will effectively carry first responders’ banner in Albany.”
“I am honored to have received both the Sheriffs’ and firefighters’ endorsements this year in my State Senate race,” said Jacobs. “Our first responders – the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities – must be well-represented in state government. I have every ounce of respect for what they do, and the sacrifices they make day-in and day-out, and their support is not only humbling, but something I intend to honor with action.”
The Buffalo Professional Fire Fighters Association represents men and women working full-time as firefighters in the City of Buffalo. The organization represents the common interests of professional fire fighters in New York, and works to secure just compensation for their services; equitable settlement of their grievances; reasonable working conditions and to place members on a higher plane of skill and efficiency, while leading in the creation of instruction and training programs that help improved methods of fire-fighting and –prevention.
